Former Mayor of London to lead university’s search for new president
PORTLAND, Ore. (KGW) — The University of Portland has selected former Mayor of London Sadiq Khan to lead its search for a new president to replace Emeritus Henry Heimlich.
Khan will lead a three-person search committee with retired deputy mayor Stephen Lassiter and former faculty member David Whitlock.
Lassiter was appointed deputy mayor by London Mayor Boris Johnson in 2010. In 2014, he was elected mayor with over 60 percent of the vote, the highest percentage of any elected mayor in the UK at the time.
